With the Table Presets commands you can easily save your table once created and reuse it for further projects. This means: a once complex formatted xlsx list can be created for future projects with one click!
Overview and workflow table presets
Workflow Save a Table Preset:
- Click on the command "Tables Presets" in the "Schedules" panel.
- Then select the command "Save Table Preset" from the drop-down menu
- Now give your preset a meaningful name. You can also optionally categorize and describe your preset by creating a category or selecting an existing one. A description of your preset may help you or others in your organization to find the right preset later.
- Click "OK" and your preset is created and can be used for further lists.
Workflow: Retrieve a Table Preset:
- Click on the command "Tables Presets" in the "Schedules" panel
- Select your desired table preset from the list in the fly-out dialog and your new table - xlsx table will be created exactly as the preset was defined
If you use presets frequently - and we assume you will 😉 - you will also find presorting of your presets in this dialog, e.g. the ones you use most often or saved by category:

Note: You can use an entire Tables xlsx Workbook file with multiple worksheets in it as a global "Preset" or template. Just save it as a xlsx file and use it for future projects. All you need is to open your xlsx file in your new project with Tables and click the "Reload" command, or the "Reload all Spreadsheets" sub-command. Tables will generate the same file however with the new project data!
Workflow: Management of Table Presets:
- Click on the command "Tables Presets" in the "Schedules" panel
- Then select the command "Manage Table Presets..." from the fly-out menu
- A small editing dialog pops up; here you can edit or delete your presets, but you can also make them available to other colleagues in your organization by exporting them to a file (command "Export..."), which can then be imported to another Tables installation using the command "Import...".
- Just close the dialog when you are done with your presets management.

- Click on the command "Tables Presets" in the "Schedule"panel
- Select the command "Manage categories..." from the fly-out menu
- A small editing dialog opens; here you can manage your preset categories (edit and delete)
- Just close the dialog when you are done.

Reminder: You can use multiple Tables list per xlsx worksheet. Just make sure that the lists are below each other.
