Getting Started – Creating and Executing a Rule
This step-by-step guide walks you through creating your first rule and executing it. As an example, we will set the Comments field for all walls in the entire model.
Click the MultiPushTool button in the Ribbon under b.i.m.m Tools › MultiPushTool. The main window opens.
Click "New Rule" in the toolbar. A new empty row appears in the rule table.
New Rule
Click the Data Source cell and choose "Entire Model" to include all elements in the project.
Click the Category cell. A searchable dropdown appears. Select "Walls".
Leave the mode as "Instance" since Comments is an instance parameter.
Click the button in the Target Parameter cell. The tool evaluates the elements (finds all walls) and then shows the Parameter Dialog. Find and double-click "Comments".
Click the Value cell and type a value, e.g.
Checked. Alternatively, click the formula editor button
to compose a dynamic value.
Click "Execute". The tool writes the value to the
Comments parameter of all walls. The execution log shows the
result, e.g.: Row 1: 47 parameters set (of 47)
