Special Categories: All Model Elements & Horizontal Elements
Two new multi-category options allow processing multiple Revit categories simultaneously with a single rule.
Overview
| Special Category | Includes | Geometry Filter |
|---|---|---|
| All Model Elements | All categories of type Model in the current project (dynamically determined) | Respected |
| Horizontal Elements | Floors, Ceilings, Edge Slabs, Structural Foundations | Respected |
Note: These categories appear in the Category dropdown alongside
normal Revit categories, identifiable by their descriptive names.
All Model Elements
Covers all categories of type Model present in the current Revit project — walls, doors, windows, floors, columns, beams, furniture, and everything else considered a 3D model element.
Typical use cases
- Setting a construction status parameter for the entire model at once
- Clearing Comments fields for all model elements
- Resetting a mark or code project-wide
Caution: Evaluates all model elements.
In large projects, this may take longer. Use a Scope Box filter to reduce
the element set.
Horizontal Elements
Groups four common horizontal structural and envelope categories:
| Category | Revit Internal Name |
|---|---|
| Floors |
OST_Floors
|
| Ceilings |
OST_Ceilings
|
| Edge Slabs (roof slab edges) |
OST_EdgeSlab
|
| Structural Foundations |
OST_StructuralFoundation
|
Typical use cases
- Setting acoustic or thermal performance classes for all horizontal elements in a floor level (with Scope Box filter)
- Labeling construction types for floors, ceilings, and foundations simultaneously
Tip: Combine Horizontal Elements with a Scope Box
geometry filter to target only elements in a specific building section.
