What the status values mean and how to bring floors and ceilings back in line after floor plan changes or deletions.

The status values
The Status column shows for each room whether the model and the Rubia data match:
| Status | What does it mean? | What to do? |
|---|---|---|
| OK | Room and elements are in sync. | Nothing. |
| Not yet available | Nothing has been created yet. | Assign a build-up and apply. |
| Update necessary | The room or the assignment has changed. | Apply the room again or update the profile. |
| Check necessary | Something changed that Rubia hasn't evaluated yet. | Let Check take a look. |
| Manually modified | A created element was edited by hand in Revit. | Decide whether to keep the change or overwrite it. |
| Partially deleted | Some layers/elements of the build-up are missing. | Choose an action in the “Deletion Detected” dialog. |
| Manually deleted | All created elements were deleted. | Restore or reset. |
| Restored | Rubia re-created the build-up from the saved configuration. | Check the result briefly. |
| Incorrect | Something went wrong during creation. | Look at the report and the log. |
| Not in the workset | The room can't be edited due to worksharing. | Borrow the element and try again. |
| Ignored by Generation Parameter | The room is skipped on purpose (see Settings). | Only change if intended. |
Checking the status
Check compares room geometry, assignments and existing elements for all loaded rooms and then updates the status column.
Tip
After bigger floor plan changes, run Check before you carry on.
Updating profiles
When walls have moved, the floor and ceiling outlines no longer match the room. You don't need to open the Rubia window to update them; the commands are in the Revit ribbon:
| Command | What happens? |
|---|---|
| All Floors and Ceilings | Updates the profiles of all floors and ceilings created by Rubia. |
| All Floors | Updates all floors only. |
| All Ceilings | Updates all ceilings only. |
| Selected Floors | Updates only the floors of the elements selected in Revit. |
| Selected Ceilings | Updates only the ceilings of the elements selected in Revit. |
The report afterwards lists which profiles were adjusted.
Good to know
If you changed a finishing structure that's already used in rooms, Rubia asks: “There are rooms with changed finishing structures. Do you want to update these rooms?” Click “Yes” to update those rooms.
When elements were deleted
When floors or ceilings created by Rubia are deleted in Revit, Rubia opens the “Deletion Detected” dialog. There you choose what happens for each room:
| Action | What happens? |
|---|---|
| Keep existing | The remaining elements stay in place. Missing layers are not re-created; the status is set to OK. |
| Restore | Remaining elements are deleted and all layers are regenerated from the saved configuration. The room ends up as it was before the deletion. |
| Reset | All remaining elements are deleted and the configuration is cleared. The room is ready for a new build-up. |
Keep All, Restore All or Reset All apply the action to all entries. Cancel closes the dialog without changes; the status stays “Partially deleted”.
Heads up
If a structure type no longer exists in the project, Rubia can't restore it. These entries are marked with ❌ and skipped.
When rooms were deleted
When a room is deleted, its floors and ceilings stay in the model for now. Rubia lists them in the “Element Clean Up” dialog:
- Tick the Delete column for the elements that should go.
- Show in Model lets you look at the element in Revit first.
- Delete selected elements removes the ticked elements, Ignore leaves everything in place.
