Door thresholds and floor ends
Define how Rubia determines where the floor ends at doors:
- Floor ends at the outer edge of the wall: works with any door family.
- Floor ends at a reference plane of the door family: more precise, but needs suitable families. Rubia looks for the given reference plane in the door family and uses it as the boundary of the floor.
For the second option, enter the name the reference plane has in your door families under Reference plane name.
-
Check reference plane
Click Check reference plane. The “Select Door Reference Planes” dialog opens.
-
Analyze door families
Click Check. Rubia analyzes all door families and shows per family whether a matching reference plane was found.
-
Assign a reference plane
Choose the right reference plane for each family. The diagram below shows the door panel edges, which tells you which plane is the right one.
Tip
If a family says “No parallel reference planes found”, the family is missing a reference plane parallel to the wall. Add one at the threshold in the Family Editor.
Skip rooms during creation
Shafts, voids and similar rooms usually shouldn't get a floor or ceiling. Select a Yes/No parameter (instance parameter on the room) for each:
- Skip floors if …
- Skip ceilings if …
If the parameter is set to “Yes” on a room, Rubia leaves it out during creation. The room list then shows the status “Ignored by Generation Parameter”.
Limit the floor type selection
If the project has a lot of floor types, you can narrow down the choice. Select a Yes/No type parameter under Filter floor types by. The drop-down then only lists types where this parameter is set to “Yes”.
Parameter mapping
Edit mapping rules opens the mapping dialog. The option Always apply parameter mapping makes sure the rules also apply to existing elements. Details are in the Parameter mapping article.
Warnings and notices
Define how Rubia handles warnings that occur during creation:
- Collect warnings in the Rubia report (recommended)
- Show warnings directly in Revit
Tip
Use the Rubia report. Otherwise Revit stops the run at every warning, which gets noticeably slow with many rooms. The report lists all warnings together at the end.
Logs and troubleshooting
Rubia logs important steps as well as notices, warnings and errors, If something goes wrong, the log usually says which room and why.
- Show log opens the current log file.
- Open log folder opens the folder with all logs. You can send them to support from there.
